I am blessed to be the pastor and spiritual leader of Prospect Congregational UCC in Seattle, Washington. I began here on Palm Sunday in 2005. This small renewing congregation and I are a good match and a gift to one another. I spent my childhood in Oklahoma active in the Southern Baptist Church; then, as a young adult, I lived in Missouri, Alaska, and New Jersey. I taught junior high and high school English and was a stay-at-home mom for a few years. I've been married and divorced and have two grown children and two granddaughters. After 10 years as a Unitarian-Universalist, I began my official ministry training at age 35 as a single mom attending Eden Theological Seminary of the United Church of Christ in St. Louis. When I entered Eden, I stepped into a "new room" of liberal religious thought and progressive Christianity. I was amazed to discover that there is another way to be Christian! I made the faith choice to move into the UCC and have been an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ for 19 years. I have served as both a parish pastor and chaplain in Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota and now in Washington. I live in Bellevue, the "edge city" with Seattle, where I enjoy many spiritual practices including centering prayer, journaling, guided meditation and being in nature. As a spiritual director, I practice and lead InterPlay, a movement practice which integrates body and spirit and created laughter and joy!
